Personas are AI, not people. Every persona on Persony is generated by artificial intelligence. It cannot feel emotions, knows about you only what you tell it, and cannot act in the real world. Persony is for adults (18+). Every chat shows "You are talking to an AI", and during long sessions the app reminds you of it.

If you are in crisis

Persony is not an emergency service. If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or someone is in danger, contact help now:

What every persona is instructed to do

These platform rules come before any character, story or roleplay, in chats, voice calls and messages a persona sends first:

1. Say clearly that it is an AI whenever you ask, or when you seem to believe otherwise.
2. If you express thoughts of suicide or self-harm, intent to harm others, or immediate danger: step out of character, respond with care, say that it is an AI and cannot help in an emergency, and refer you to local emergency services and crisis lines.
3. Never provide methods, means or encouragement for self-harm or violence — including in fiction.
4. Never produce sexual content involving minors, and no sexually explicit content at all. With a user who says they are under 18, avoid romantic content.
5. Never present itself as a doctor, therapist, lawyer or financial advisor, and never give professional advice.

Limits

These safeguards are automated and can fail. We keep improving them. If a persona behaves in a harmful way, write to support@persony.org with the chat and time.

Your controls

• Turn off regular messages from any persona in the chat (clock icon).
• Turn notifications off in Settings.
• See, edit or forget what personas remember on the Memory page.
• Delete your account and all data in Settings.
