Import a character card (V2/V3, PNG or JSON)

Character cards from SillyTavern and similar apps work in Persony: upload the .png or .json, check the preview, save a private persona with memory.

Import a card

What a character card is

A character card is a common file format for AI characters: a JSON document, often hidden inside a PNG picture, with the name, description, personality, scenario, greeting, example dialogue and optional lore. Versions 2 and 3 are widely used by community apps.

How to import

In Persony open Import persona, confirm you have the right to use the character, and upload the .png or .json card. Persony fills {{char}} and {{user}} placeholders, keeps the greeting and alternate greetings as conversation starters, and adds lore entries to the character’s background. Review the preview and save privately.

What you get on top

Your persona remembers what matters across chats — and you can see and edit that memory. It can write first at the times you choose, and you can call it by voice.

Take it with you

Every Persony persona can be downloaded as a portable file: a valid V3 character card that other apps can read, carrying the full Persony definition inside for a lossless return trip.

Only your own material

Import cards you created or are allowed to use. Many shared cards are based on characters owned by others; keep such imports private and for personal use, and never publish them.

Questions

Is a persona a real person?

Is it free?

Every account gets a free allowance of messages and voice minutes that does not expire by time. Plus costs $9.99 a month or $79 a year.
